Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that this week is a big one for his Manchester United side as they look to repeat the success of the Red Devils in 2013.
United take on Burnley on Tuesday and if they win or draw they will take full control of the table, level on points with Liverpool, who are level on points with Manchester United.
But the other important game is Manchester United’s game against Liverpool next Sunday which they need to win to extend their lead.
Manchester United will be leading the table for the first time since 2013 when they last won the title as Sir Alex Ferguson ended his career that is very long time ago.
Solskjaer believes the Red Devils will be hoping to get back to where they were at the time and take the lead, but the task is to win both games.
Speaking to the media, Solskjaer said: “I think the fans are happy, they are happy where we are, but we haven’t reached the halfway point yet. Of course every game against Burnley, every game against Liverpool is great.
Solskjaer continues “Now, my eyes are on Burnley game, we will look at our next game. Every Premier League game is a challenge.
“It simply came to our notice then. Each game is a different experiment. Watford put us to the test, Burnley put us to the test and Liverpool were another.
“Then we go on to the Fulham game and it will be a different test. No one will remember what the league standings table was on 12 January 2021.
“We are having a good time. We started again after the disappointment of losing to Manchester City and really recovered from a good win.
“Of course we want to build another movement. If we can win on Tuesday, it will be two wins for us and we will confidently go to the next game.
Solskjaer concluded “every and each Premier League game is an opportunity and challenge to build more confidence.”
